Billy D. Welch flew 83 combat missions as a fighter pilot, and in November of 1944 was assigned to Scotland to train new fighter pilots how to fly the P-51. He has been a flight instructor since then, a period of 72 years. Created by aviation photographer John Slemp of Aerographs Aviation Photography.
